Vasco Alexandre do Nascimento Viana Batista

Vasco Batista (*1990) is a Portuguese young professional graduated in International Relations from the School of Economics of the University of Coimbra. He completed a diploma on Human Rights and Democratisation in the Law Faculty at the same university, an Erasmus Intensive Programme on Political Identities at the University of Siegen, Germany and an exchange programme at the University Jaume I in Castellón de la Plana, Spain. After 8 months living in Brussels, Belgium, where he worked as an assistant communication officer at the United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC), first as a Leonardo Da Vinci trainee, then as a consultant, he is currently working in Lisbon as an event and project manager for the Forum on Civil Society that intends to discuss the past, the present and the future of the third sector in Portugal. In March he will back to Brussels to start a traineeship at the Spokespersons’ Service of the European Commission. He is also the Youth Ambassador for Portugal in the context of the Model OSCE 2014 organised by the upcoming Swiss OSCE Chairmanship and a volunteer translator at the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM).
