Sven Giegold is a German politician of the Alliance 90/The Greens, who serves as the party's deputy chair on Europe. Prior to that, he was State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and a Member of the European Parliament. As a studied political economist Sven has been active in the environmental movement and altermondialism for more than 20 years. He is a member of the executive committee of the German Evangelical Church Assembly.
