Susanne Spröer is head of the Culture Background editorial office at Deutsche Welle, the German international broadcaster. The commemoration of the First World War is one of this years main reporting topics. Previously she was a journalist at the Cologne-based public broadcaster WDR, where she produced many culture and history documentaries, including the award-winning film ‘The Picture of the Napalm Girl’. She also worked as an author, writer and filmmaker. Spröer studied history and journalism.
