One of the biggest challenges is the low understanding of climate change tools and methodology to incorporate it on individual levels in daily life. This is highlighted in the skills gap toward transformative inclusive equitable and sustainable systems in energy. Many young professionals and youth organizations are highly engaged about renewable energy and sustainability initiatives, but they seem to lack the training necessary to incorporate sustainability and protection of the environment within their scope of work.
My climate action has taken place through volunteering, climate advocacy, and communication about sustainability. While in Egypt, I participated in the Clean Shores Campaign as an organizer of a Nile River clean-up activities, volunteered, and designed educational materials supporting environmental awareness, pollution reduction, and the mitigation of single-use plastic. With the Bosch Alumni Network, I was part of the 2023 Bosch Africa Forum in Tunisia, where I worked on integrating culture, community change, and climate justice on the intersection of sustainable development. At Orange Business, I focus on global sustainability communication where I develop training and communication materials that enable sales teams to articulate solutions and tools that align with renewable energy and carbon reduction to their enterprise customers. This includes the simplification of complicated energy issues through storytelling. In the Alpbach Network, I foster youth dialogues on the intersection of innovation and sustainable development where I support young leaders in sharing climate action ideas in Europe and Africa, and in creating collaborative networks to facilitate climate action.
