Malte Spielmann is Head of Programme for EU-Turkey at the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung European Union | Global Dialogue since May 2026. Before, he was Programme Coordinator and Deputy Director Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung's Turkey office from January 2025 to April 2026. He studied law, political science, and public policy in Münster, Istanbul, London, and Berlin. An alumnus of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, he previously supported the work of the Green Academy within the foundation from 2017 to 2022. From 2020 to 2023, he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Constitutional Law and International Law (MPIL) and at the Cluster of Excellence SCRIPTS. From 2024 to early 2025, he coordinated the Global Justice Law Clinic at the Faculty of State Sciences in Erfurt as a research associate.
