Dshamilja Roshani is a Berlin-born writer, poet and performer of German-Iranian descent who is currently based in South Africa. Formally trained in Political Science, Sociology and Creative Writing, their writing explores themes such as identity, queerness, home and belonging. Their work has appeared on platforms such as The Mail & Guardian, The Joburg Theatre, Poetry Africa and Button Poetry, amongst others. Dshamilja’s debut album The Pride of Water was released in March 2023 and critically acclaimed as a “sonically astute and lyrically satisfying” body of work.
