Dr. Ulrich Speck is a German foreign policy analyst based in Berlin and Heidelberg. He is a senior visiting fellow at The German Marshall Fund in Berlin. His focuses are German foreign policy, European foreign policy, transatlantic relations and global order.
Previously Speck has worked for Radio Free Europe in Prague, for Carnegie Europe in Brussels, for the Transatlantic Academy in Washington D.C. He was also an Associate Fellow at the Spanish think tank Elcano Royal Institute. Specks articles have been widely published by German and international media (New York Times, Financial Times, Moscow Times) and in foreign policy magazines (Berlin Policy Journal, The American Interest).
Speck has co-edited books on the Revolution of 1848/49, on American Empire, and on modern anti-Semitism. He holds a PhD in modern history from the University of Frankfurt.
