Dr. Thilo Becker holds a diploma degree in Transport Engineering from the TU Dresden in Germany and a master degree in Transport Systems from KTH Stockholm in Sweden. He finished his PhD on social equity aspects in transportation and their environmental effects at Technische Universität Dresden in 2016. Other topics of research are big data, bicycle planning, strategic transportation planning and external effects of Transport. In spring 2017 he started working for municipalities and he is now head of department “Transportation and Public Works” at the City of Offenburg. This position includes the responsibility for realization of the “Strategic Urban Mobility Planning Process (SUMP) as well as road design and construction, the road traffic authority and public transport.
