Dr. Daouda Cissé is a researcher and lecturer affiliated with LASPAD (Centre for the Analysis of Societies and Powers / African Diasporas) at Gaston Berger University in Senegal. He specialises in China’s domestic and overseas political economy, Africa-China relations. He holds a PhD in Economics from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan and has held research positions at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability in Bonn, Germany, National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan, University of Alberta in Canada, and University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. He is the author of China in Africa: From Macro-Level Engagements to Grassroots Interactions (2021).
