Beatriz Busaniche is Executive Director at Fundación Vía Libre, a civil organization that has been working on human rights in environments mediated by digital technologies since 2000. In this context, she manages projects related to the use and development of free software, access to culture and intellectual property, electoral technologies, surveillance, data protection and public safety, information security and artificial intelligence.
Their approach is based on human rights, regulations and public awareness. They have a strong grounding in the technical and academic community, so their projects are based on rigorous technical expertise in all the topics they work on. In recent years, they have been one of the few civil society organizations that conducts academic research and publishes in refereed journals on artificial intelligence issues, especially in the field of natural language processing. They have extensive experience in monitoring international processes such as WIPO, WTO, the debates of the World Summit on the Information Society as well as its successive meetings such as the IGFs.
Beatriz has a degree in Social Communication, a Master in Intellectual Property and she teaches undergraduate courses at the University of Buenos Aires and at the Torcuato Di Tella University, as well as postgraduate courses at the University of Buenos Aires, UNTREF and Flacso.
