Arthur Snell was a British diplomat from 1998 to 2014, serving in Iraq, Yemen and Afghanistan as well as being assistant director for counter-terrorism and working on European security and defence issues at the Foreign Office in London. He now works as a consultant and writer on foreign policy. He has a Substack which can be found here, and a regular podcast on geopolitcs called Behind the Lines.
