Ariel Slipak coordinates the Research Area of the Environment and Natural Resources Foundation / Fundación Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (FARN) on topics related to socio-ecological transition and energy transition, with a special focus on the ways out of fossil fuels. The area also specialises in monitoring the socio-economic agenda with a focus on its impacts on the environment and on the follow-up and incidence of the agenda of some global institutions (especially the role of financial institutions in fossil fuel financing).
Professor at the University of Buenos Aires, he has also worked as a lecturer and researcher at other universities and in the Argentinean Science and Technology system. Author of book chapters and scientific and popular articles on economic and social development, international trade with an ecological economics perspective and issues concerning the impacts of extractivism in Latin America.
He holds a BA in Economics, magna cum laude and honours degree from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He is a PhD candidate in Social Sciences at the National University of General Sarmiento (UNGS).
