Louis Weise

Louis Weise (he/him) joined the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung European Union | Global Dialogue as a trainee in March 2026. In this role, he works within the EU and International Politics Programme and supports the entire team with their projects, events and publications.

Before joining the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung in Brussels, Louis worked at the European Parliament’s Directorate-General for External Policies of the Union, the German Federal Foreign Office, a security think tank and in international development cooperation.

He holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the Freie Universität Berlin, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the University of Potsdam, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Sociology and Law from the University of Bonn. He has also studied at Sciences Po Paris, King's College London, Reichman University Herzliya and the University of Oxford through various academic exchanges.

His main areas of expertise are strategic foresight, geopolitical challenges and international security, focusing particularly on EU external action, German foreign policy and the MENA region.
