Noortje Thijssen is the Director of the GroenLinks Scientific Bureau, the political foundation of Groenlinks, the Dutch green party. She is also a member of the Senate for GroenLinks-PvdA since 2023.

She previously ran her own company, Voor Impact, was a partner at Public Matters, a policy officer for the GroenLinks parliamentary group, and a PR manager at myTomorrows. She chaired the 2019 European Parliament Candidates Committee and was a member of the 2017 House of Representatives Candidates Committee. Noortje holds a PhD in sociology and completed a post-master's degree in journalism.
