Minna Ålander is Associate Fellow at Chatham House's Europe Programme. She is also a non-resident Fellow at CEPA Transatlantic Defense and Security programme and a Senior Fellow at the Stockholm Free World Forum. Previously, she worked at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs.
Her research focuses on Northern European and Arctic security, Nordic defence cooperation, NATO, as well as wider European security. Her expertise also includes German and Finnish security and defence policy.
She holds a joint Master’s degree in International Relations from the Free University of Berlin, the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Potsdam.
