Discussion Round to Regional Cooperation and the EU's Renewable Energy Framework
In the context of the global climate talks that were held in Paris from 29.11 till 12.12.2016, this event aimed at providing a forum for frank discussion and debate about how to increase renewables deployment in the EU through increased regional cooperation. More particularly, the discussion round served to present and discuss the findings of the report "Driving regional cooperation forward in the 2030 renewable energy framework". The report focuses on the role of regional cooperation to reach and even exceed the target of at least 27% renewables by 2030. It analyses what types of cooperation could develop and recommmend possible approaches to regional cooperation in the renewable context, both from a bottop-up and a top-down perspective. In particuliar, the report discusses with a view to the 2030 framework.
