Nicole Sagemer was born in Berlin and marvelled at the fall of the Berlin Wall with the eyes of a child. After studying social and cultural anthropology and literature in Berlin and Paris, she went into journalism. She has reported on (European) politics, research and society for Zeit Online, Tagesspiegel and Funke Mediengruppe, among others, and was most recently head of department at t-online. She has been Press Spokesperson for International Cooperation at the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung since April 2024.
