Manfred Hornung

Manfred Hornung has been Deputy Director and Head of the Global Support for Democracy Unit of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung's European Union Office in Brussels since October 2020. He started working for the Heinrich Böll Foundation in 2011 heading the Phnom Penh Office. From 2013 until 2020 he was Director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Southeast Asia Regional Office in Bangkok covering the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Prior to that, he worked at the Supreme Court of Laos in the realm of an United Nation’s judicial project as well as for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the non-governmental human rights organization LICADHO in Cambodia. He holds a Master’s Degree in International Law from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.
