Dr. J. Olaf Kleist is a political scientist specializing in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. He is currently working at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM) in Berlin and was previously at the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS), University of Osnabrück and the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC), University of Oxford. His areas of focus include refugee protection and refugee policy at and across different political levels. He is co-editor of the forthcoming (2022) books ‘Gewaltschutz in Geflüchtetenunterkünften’ (transcript) and ‘Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung: Handbuch für Wissenschaft und Studium’ (Nomos).
