Daniel Freund is Member of the European Parliament for the Greens/EFA since 2019. His topics are transparency, democracy, and fighting corruption. Daniel leads the work of the Greens/EFA for the Conference on the Future of Europe. He was part of the team negotiating the Rule of Law mechanism in autumn 2020. As a response to authoritarian tendencies, he is fighting for more democracy within a European Federal Republic. During the ninth legislative term, he served as a member of the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) and the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO).

Before being elected, Daniel worked as a consultant for Deloitte, and for Transparency International's Brussels office, where he was head of advocacy for EU integrity. He studied politics, economics and law in Leipzig, Paris and Washington. Daniel holds a Master’s degree in “Affaires Publiques” from Sciences Po Paris.
