Ana Carcedo, holds a Master in Women's Studies, was born in Madrid and has lived in Costa Rica since 1975. Feminist activist and academic, President of the Feminist Center for Information and Action, CEFEMINA, professor in the Masters in Women's Studies at the University of Costa Rica and coordinator of the Central American Observatory for the Eradication of Femicide of the Central American Feminist Network Against Violence Towards the Women.
She has worked as a consultant for UN agencies (ONU Mujeres, ILO, IOM, UNDP, and UNFPA), different Latin American governments (Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia) and various institutions in Costa Rica such as the University of Costa Rica, the National Institute of Women and INAMU.
