Alex Brianson (formerly Alex Warleigh-Lack) was Professor of EU Politics at the University of Surrey until August 2015. Since then he has been a 'recovering academic', although he is a Professorial Research Fellow at the University of Kent's School of Politics and International Relations. He has published widely on EU politics, particularly democracy, citizenship and EU reform, in recent years from an explicitly Green perspective. He is on the advisory board of the UK-based think tank, Green House, and is the author of their 2014 report on reform of the EU: www.greenhousethinktank.org.
