Mārtiņš Staķis is a Latvian politician and businessman. He was elected as a Member of the European Parliament for The Greens/EFA in 2024. Before, he served as a deputy of the Latvian parliament, until he resigned in 2020 to become the Mayor of Riga.
In August 2017, Mārtiņš co-found Movement For!, and was elected to the board of the party. He has been active in the party, both as executive director and leader of its pre-election campaign. After leaving his party in 2023, he joined the Progressives party, with which he will now enter the European Parliament.
