Paweł Pieniążek (1989) is a Polish journalist. He has reported on the protests in Russia and Ukraine, the war in Donbas, the refugee crisis and the Kurds’ fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Pawel contributed to major Polish media such as Gazeta.pl, Gazeta Wyborcza, Newsweek, Polityka and Tygodnik Powszechny. He was fellow at the Poynter Fellowship at Yale University in 2015. Pawel is the author of ‘Wojna, która nas zmieniła’ and ‘Pozdrowienia z Noworosji’ (which with Professor Timothy Snyder’s introduction was published in English and ‘Greetings from Novorossiya’). He is currently working on a third book about the war in Syria which will be published in 2019.
