Meriç G. Doğan is a consultant at the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung's Global Support for Democracy Unit. Previously, they served as an intern in the same unit from April 2023 to September 2023. Before joining the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Meriç worked as an LGBTI+ Thematic Area Representative at the Civil Society in the Penal System Association (CİSST) and hold the position of co-coordinator of the LGBTI+ Helpline at the Social Policy, Gender Identity, and Sexual Orientation Studies Association (SPoD) in Istanbul. Since 2013, Meriç has been actively involved in advocating for LGBTI+ rights in Turkey and internationally through various local and regional civic groups.
Meriç is currently completing their studies in the Specialization Master in Gender Studies at UCLouvain. They hold a BA in Sociology from Galatasaray University in Istanbul, as well as two MA degrees: one in Social Anthropology from Oslo University and the other in Sociology from Anadolu University in Eskişehir.
