The year 2021 is arriving to its end and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your efforts, support, and inspiring cooperation. We wish you the best in this season, as well as good health and well-being for you and your loved ones.
We leave behind yet another challenging year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects on our societies. While Covid-19 vaccines are now a reality, they are not yet at reach for everybody. Today, more than ever, no one is safe until everyone is safe. The EU institutions and Member States are working hard to ensure a much-needed economic recovery. We should not miss the opportunity to ensure that economic recovery is green and gender-sensitive. With the climate crisis in full-speed, the EU should be at the forefront of climate action, including green investments that safeguard the livelihoods of future generations.
The year 2022 will be crucial to fight the multi-layered and overlapping crises that Europe and the world face. The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung European Union office in Brussels will continue working towards a green transformation with renewables, a vibrant EU democracy, a responsible and engaged EU foreign policy, and for the promotion of democracy and human rights worldwide.
