Zlatko Dizdarević

Zlatko Dizdarević is a journalist from Bosnia-Herzegovina, writer and diplomat. He graduated from Sarajevo University Faculty of Law and has also attended schools of journalism in Paris and Lille (France). At the Sarajevo daily Oslobođenje, he worked as a journalist, columnist, editor and full-time correspondent from the Middle East (Cairo, Beirut, Jerusalem, Damascus). He was the chief editor of the B&H weekly magazines Svijet and Nedjelja. He also cooperated with many international newspapers including Time, Le Monde, La Repubblica, etc. He has published commentaries and political analyses in B&H, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia. Zlatko Dizdarević was Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon as well as Ambassador-at-large at the MFA B&H. Zlatko Dizdarević is the author of 10 books with 22 editions in Europe, USA and Latin America. He received a Doctorate in International Relations from Geneva School of Diplomacy & International Relations - honoris causa. He also won several international awards, including: ‘Reporters sans frontieres-Fondation de France’ in Paris, the ‘Bruno Kreisky’ prize for human rights in Vienna, and the Paolo Borssalino’ prize for journalistic courage in Rome. He is a member of ‘the International PEN Centre of B&H’. He lives and works in Sarajevo.
