The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung European Union in cooperation with the Belgrade office organised a capacity building for a group of 14 young political activists from Serbia. This trip was organised in order to strengthen participation in political life and in order to increase ties between European and Serbian activists. The group met and exchanged with Members of the European Parliament, Commission officials, NGO representatives and European activists. The programme was designed to enhance the background knowledge of the participants on EU policy-making processes but also to allow an exchange of ideas on the current state of Serbia's democratisation and accession process. The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung also organised some workshops and trainings to complement the meetings, e.g. on how to do lobbying and how to use media resources in campaigns. Of course, the serious parts of the programme were also enriched by active debates among the participants in more relaxed settings. Two of the participants, Sanja Vico and Nikola Djuric, have written a report on their visit to the EU's capital.
