Alast Najafi is currently following her passion for the law at the University of Leiden where she is reading an LL.M in European Law.
At the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung she was responsible for planning, researching and coordinating the outreach activities of the foundation's European Union office.
Prior to joining the foundation in 2015, she gained experience at the German-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tehran, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees in Nuremberg and the European Parliament in Brussels.
Alast studied European Studies and International Relations in Osnabrück, Port Elizabeth, Dresden and Istanbul. She holds a Masters in Human Rights from the Université Saint-Louis in Brussels.
